Enameling, enameling or enameling in the literal sense, meaning blue sky, is an art with a history of about 5000 years, one of the valuable handicrafts of Iran. It is worth noting that the ancient history of this art dates back to the Achaemenid era, but the development and evolution of enameling was during the Sassanid era and the peak of this art was during the Seljuk era. Many believe that the enamelers of Byzantium and its followers in foreign countries learned this valuable and amazing art from the Iranian masters and artists of the Sassanid era. Enameling can be found in many parts of Iran, but like many other handicrafts, Isfahan is the center of creation of this beautiful art. Enameling is used to beautify and enhance various ornaments and utensils. Enameling is the art of painting various designs on different surfaces made of gold, copper, silver, etc., which usually has a blue, green and sometimes red background. If we look at it from the perspective of art, the blue background evokes the blue sky, perhaps this is the reason for the name enameling.
