Stone and clay spindles discovered in the Silk of Kashan show that the people of the oldest settlement of the Iranian plateau, who had moved from caves to the plains due to climate change, were familiar with the textile industry. Traditional weavers used simple weaving machines such as "two-weave" and "four-weave" machines to produce various types of fabrics, although today some of them have replaced the old machines with hand-made, single-phase and three-phase jacquard machines. Currently, the weaving of fine fabrics such as cashmere, zari, velvet and daari has fallen into decline and is only done in limited workshops in the cities of Yazd, Kerman and Kashan or in cultural heritage workshops for preservation and revival (zari embroidery in Tehran), but the production of fabrics and rugs using natural fibers is still common in rural areas and some urban areas of Iran. The traditional textile group, with the arrival of a new generation of fashion and clothing designers, entrepreneurs, and manufacturers, can bring new and undiscovered potential to the country's national economy; a potential that also has many attractions for the world and is consistent with our values.
